Sign in, invites & QR
How to get into Edmund: accept the e-mail invitation your administrator sends (valid 24 hours), sign in with that login, and scan a machine's QR code to open its project chat directly.
You don’t create your own Edmund account. An administrator in your organization invites you, and Edmund e-mails you the invitation. You sign in with that login. Day to day, the fastest way to the right machine is to scan its QR code, which opens that project’s chat directly.
Your invitation
An administrator adds you from Uživatelé (Users): they choose your role, enter your e-mail, and pick the team you belong to. Edmund then sends the invitation automatically.
The invitation is valid for 24 hours. If it expires before you sign in, ask your administrator to send a new one.
Your role and team decide what you’ll see. There are four roles — Administrátor, Uživatel Expert, Uživatel and Čtenář — and your team controls which projects appear. If a line you expect is missing, ask your administrator to check both. See Roles & permissions.
Open the invitation e-mail sent to the address your administrator used. If it isn’t in your inbox, check spam or junk.
Follow the link to open Edmund and set your password. This becomes the password you’ll use from then on.
Sign in with your e-mail and password. After the first time, the device usually stays signed in.
You land on your projects. From here you can scan a machine’s code, or open Chat and pick a project.
Scan a machine’s QR code
Most machines carry a printed QR code. Point your phone camera at it and Edmund opens that project’s chat directly, so you don’t have to find it in a list. If you open Chat without scanning, Edmund asks you to pick the project first.
Every project has its own QR code that can be downloaded and printed — one at a time from the project’s card, or all at once by an administrator. See Project QR codes.
Shared shop-floor devices
On a device several people use, the person signed in might not be you. Open the user menu — your name at the bottom of the left navigation — to check the signed-in name and e-mail; if it isn’t you, sign out and back in with your own account.
Chats are tied to whoever is signed in. Ask under someone else’s account and your questions land in their history, not yours.
To change your name, password or language, or to turn on two-factor sign-in, see Your account.
